Copeland, a global provider of sustainable climate solutions, is launching its next-generation of cold chain solutions including the energy efficient ZB series compressor, A2L-optimized CF series compressor and a regional launch of the Copeland Mobile app featuring Scout AI. These solutions are being introduced in New Delhi, India at REFCOLD 2025, India’s premier cold chain and refrigeration industry event where Copeland is spotlighting the urgent need for efficient solutions to reduce food losses, lower emissions and build resilient cold chain systems.

As estimated by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), in 2023-2024, India lost around 10% of its total food grain production post-harvest. More than 30% of fruits & vegetables produced every year also go to waste before they reach the market. Through its PM Kisan Sampada Yojana program, the Government of India is focusing its efforts on developing and modernizing cold chain infrastructure with the goal of reducing waste of agricultural produce. As India strengthens its cold storage capacity, Copeland’s advanced solutions are helping retailers and cold chain customers to reduce waste, ensure reliability and advance sustainability, while supporting sustainable cold chain infrastructure.

As part of the REFCOLD 2025 industry showcase, Copeland is unveiling a comprehensive range of cold chain solutions tailored for diverse applications from small cold rooms and quick-service restaurants to large-scale warehouses and food processing industries. The portfolio features the high-efficiency ZFI 180 and ZB 300 scroll compressors for freezer and chiller room applications enabling compact and reliable refrigeration systems. Additionally, Copeland is showcasing its new CF series compressor optimized for high-ambient conditions and capable of handling high pressure A2L and A3 refrigerants. Together, these innovations reflect Copeland’s commitment to the energy transition, adoption of low-global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants and reliability across India’s cold chain ecosystem.

Along with its updated product portfolio, Copeland Mobile with Scout AI is also being launched at the event. First launched in the U.S. and now coming to India, the application empowers technicians and customers with instant access to real-time diagnostics and troubleshooting, smart product selection and training resources. With Scout AI chatbot technology, the digital application allows virtual support. The application also features a scanning tool that reads Copeland product nameplates, delivering specifications, detailed service and maintenance documentation and recommendations for replacement components.

“At Copeland, we recognize that sustainability is no longer an option, it is an imperative,” said Jagadish Keswani, president, India, Middle East and Africa for Copeland. “With the launch of our next generation cold chain portfolio and digital innovations, we are helping India’s cold chain sector achieve its cold storage capacity goals. Our mission is to drive sustainable innovation from the forefront and empower businesses across India to safeguard critical and perishable goods with greater reliability and reduced environmental impact.”

REFCOLD, an initiative by ISHRAE (The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers), is bringing industry stakeholders together to address key challenges and opportunities as part of the 2025 edition’s theme – Innovating Sustainable Cooling for Tomorrow. Copeland is the main sponsor of the 8th Edition of the REFCOLD Awards, acknowledging the outstanding contributions and innovations from India’s cold chain sector. Copeland’s commitment to India is further demonstrated by its most recent ₹500 crore investment, which includes a new Engineering and Technology Center in Pune, amplifying the company’s capabilities, accelerating production and enabling Copeland to engineer solutions tailored to meet the country’s requirements.
