Henkel Adhesives Technologies India has completed Phase III of its largest manufacturing facility in Kurkumbh, Maharashtra, marking a significant step in boosting India’s manufacturing sector. This expansion includes the inauguration of a new Loctite plant, which will play a critical role in meeting the increasing demand for high-performance adhesives, sealants, and surface treatments across key industries.
Since entering the Indian market in 1996, Henkel has steadily grown its presence through strategic investments. The new Loctite plant in Kurkumbh will enhance local production capabilities, reduce dependency on imports, and address the supply-demand gap in the manufacturing, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), and automotive sectors. This aligns with the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, promoting self-reliance and local manufacturing.
The Kurkumbh facility is designed to meet the highest standards of sustainability, being LEED Gold certified, and aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. It also features an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), leveraging Industry 4.0 technologies to optimize production efficiency. This cutting-edge technology will help Henkel India drive profitable, organic growth while contributing to the broader manufacturing ecosystem in the country.
Mark Dorn, Executive Vice President of Henkel Adhesive Technologies, emphasized the company’s commitment to India, stating, “Our expansion reflects Henkel’s vision to be a self-reliant global market player with a strong local presence, driving growth through innovation and sustainable solutions.”
This strategic investment positions Henkel as a key player in India’s manufacturing landscape, offering advanced adhesive technologies that cater to the evolving needs of the industry.
